FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
What is Excavation? The simple answer is digging. But as professionals to us it is more than that. It is the process of developing a plan with the customer based on their vision, obtaining the proper permitting should any be needed, getting the proper equipment to the jobsite based on the specific requirements of the job, and completing the job in a timely manner.
-
What issues can excavation solve for you?It can facilitate a solid foundation under your new home, correct drainage issues, allow for the placement of utilities, or give your property an opportunity to reach its full potential.
-
What is the process used by us to begin excavation?Once we are contacted by you, the customer, we begin by making a profile for you that contains a quick overview of your plan, your contact information, and maps of the topography of the project. We will set up a project evaluation with you where we meet you in person at the site and and go over your plans and what you expect from us. After that meeting you will receive an estimate/contract, with a detailed plan of how we will achieve the goals you have in mind within 24 hours of our visit for you to approve. Once you decide to move forward with the project we will schedule a start date and begin work.

What is land clearing?Land clearing is the process of removing and disposing of vegetation, trees, rocks, debris, or trash from an area.
-
How many acres can be cleared in a day? There are a lot of answers to this question. it depends on different factors such as terrain type, obstacles, soil type, density of vegetation, and weather conditions. Density of vegetation- Forestry mulchers can clear 2-3 acres a day of saplings and small trees up to 3", 1-2 acres a day of 3"-6" trees, and 1 acre per day of larger trees. Dozers and trackhoes working in tandem can clear 1-5 acres a day of trees averaging between 10-16".
-
What clearing method is most efficient? When clear cutting a property 5+ acres dozers and trackhoes are the quickest way to open up space, but usually incur a higher cost. Dozers excel in clearing mass tracts of land for development. If you are looking to thin underbrush, build a new homesite, or transform property less than 10 acres mulchers are the quickest method because there is no burning or haul required. Mulchers excel in clearing for utilities and access.
